Mediaplanet and Dr. Travis Stork, of CBS’s daytime talk show “The Doctors,” are teaming up to combat the upcoming shortage of medical professionals in the U.S. in this year’s edition of “Careers in Health Care.” This campaign will inspire students to pursue one of the many avenues within the healthcare industry.
The country will face an estimated shortage of 90,000 professionals by 2020 due to the number of aging Americans along with the potential reforms to the insurance system. To counteract the shortage, medical program enrollment will need to increase more rapidly than the 30-percent increase experienced between 2002 and 2017.
