With nearly 20 years of industry experience to his credit, Dr. Shimodaira has worked as a professor in the Department of Regenerative Medicine at Kanazawa Medical University since 2016, as well as a professor in the Center for Advanced Cellular Therapy at Shinshu University Hospital since 2013. Previously, he has held various other positions at Shinshu University Hospital, including chief physician for the molecular cell therapy division from 2009 to 2015, and associate professor for the blood transfusion division from 2008 to 2015. Prior to these appointments, Dr. Shimodaira completed a postdoctoral research fellowship in the Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Southern California from 1999 to 2001.
In addition to his primary trade, Dr. Shimodaira is most proud of his achievements in the field, including his developments in dendritic cell-based cancer immunotherapy and his contributions to the invention and manufacturing of a dendritic cell vaccine. Before embarking on his professional path, Dr. Shimodaira pursued an education at Shinsu University, earning a Doctor of Medicine in 1990. He concluded his studies in 1997, graduating from Shinshu University with a PhD.
In light of his exceptional undertakings, Dr. Shimodaira has accrued numerous accolades and honors throughout his impressive career. In 2016, he was selected for inclusion in Who's Who in the World.
