The convenience and growth of these platforms is so overwhelming that many in the real estate industry have called them a threat to their business model, likening them to how Uber upset the taxi industry.

“Even though Zillow and other websites keep growing, folks still want that person to guide them and help them make smart decisions about buying a house,” says Megan Adams, Realtor® in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Megan says “Many of my clients are folks looking to buy in our area but who don’t know anyone here. They don’t know how to choose someone they trust. But they have Instagram. And that’s how they find me and learn about me. And as I put out more and more content, it’s how I build trust with them over time.”
That’s why she’s launching a rebrand so she can further cement her expertise on a platform that others in her industry have ignored.
“Megan has an unmistakably happy, friendly attitude online that’s just the same as it is in person. Megan is the real deal. So we wanted to make sure her new look reflected her bright, sun-shiny personality and her no-BS attitude,” says Justin Vajko, Principal of Dialog Design Co., the firm Megan hired for her rebrand “We also wanted it to be a look that really connected with the Millennial generation and younger – a huge part of her target audience – who are looking for authentic people to do business with. We considered these and other factors when we created her logo and wrote her tagline.”
Indeed, Megan’s tagline is “Real estate for real folks.”
But what about the risks of focusing on a platform that most people consider to be “just for fun?” Justin says, “Megan definitely knows how to use social media to generate business for herself – she isn’t just doing this for show. She’s making a smart business decision and it’s bearing fruit in the clients she’s getting from it.”
Megan’s following has grown slowly but surely over the last few years and she doesn’t plan to stop now. Her rebrand now positions her as the Realtor® of choice for the Chippewa Valley on Instagram for years to come.
