Z-Medica Links Up With U.S. Marines

Z-Medica, LLC, a leading developer and marketer of hemostatic devices, announces today the results from the annual “Tee It Up Fore Marines” Golf Tournament, put on by the Mission Viejo Community Foundation in collaboration with the City of Mission Viejo, CA and the city’s Marine Adoption Committee. This marks the second year that Z-Medica was the title sponsor of the sold-out event resulting in the largest turnout ever, hosting 158 golfers.

According to event organizers, twenty-eight thousand dollars ($28,000) has been collected thus far from the tournament. This money will be used to help the families and members of the Headquarters Battalion of the 1st Marine Division stationed out of Camp Pendleton, which was formally adopted by Mission Viejo.

“The City of Mission Viejo is proud to support our military and the annual ‘Tee It Up Fore Marines’ Golf Tournament,” said Mission Viejo Mayor Wendy Bucknum. “This is just one way we raise funds to support them. We are thankful for our partnerships with businesses like Z-Medica, which has enabled us to raise funds to further our efforts in providing for these brave men and women.”

The Committee activities include sending weekly care packages to deployed troops, subsidizing the cost for entry-level Marines to attend the annual Marine Corps Ball, collecting gowns for female Marines and Marines’ wives to wear at the annual Marine Corps Ball, visiting Marines at the Wounded Warrior barracks and distributing toys to the children of Marines during the holidays, among other family support activities.

“Supporting our military, either at home or away, is a priority for us,” said Z-Medica’s President and CEO Stephen J. Fanning. “The Mission Viejo effort is just one of several local and regional opportunities that Z-Medica utilizes annually to give back to those who sacrifice so much for our nation.”
